Expected engine life

I am curious, at around what mileage does the GS's engine typically start to need rebuilding?

my friends is at over 65k and hasnt been rebuilt yet

Our GS has over 16K and it still makes great compression and hasn't needed its valves adjusted.

From what I've read who knows where,  but The average is between 30k and 60k depending on how, where you ride and how well you keep up on the maintenance etc...
