Hey fellow riders, check the 'Meet and Greet' section of this site for a ride down the Skyline Drive this weekend, 3/27, or click on this thread:

All bikes and bikers are welcome. The more the merrier. It seems that Mother Nature is cooking up a most excellent weekend for our ride and encouraging us to share good cheer with great company. Join for the whole ride or meet us along the way. :thumb:
As my Uncle Bilbo used to say, "It's a dangerous thing taking your motorcycle out of the garage. If you don't keep your wits about you there's no telling where you'll be swept off to."

Is this pathetic or what? I'm answering my own post.

Come on Virginia area GS'ers. Of the 5 bikes on this ride we have only 2 from GStwin.com. :(  Even if you don't have the time or desire to ride, meet us at the Pine Field Hut Shelter on the Appalachian Trail. We'll be getting there about 3:00 pm on Saturday and staying all night. Its at the southern end of the Skyline Drive near Wayneboro. Stop in for a brew and hotdog at least.

indeed... you guys don't know what you're gonna be missing.  My friend from Baltimore is  one of the greatest pyromaniacs in the world... and he's bringing his backpacking chainsaw :thumb:

The campfire alone should be worth the trip out.

Skyline Drive in my Dakota? Naahhh, not worth the speeding ticket I get EVERY time I head that way. I'll catch up with you guys sometime this summer though, there are sure to be more rides. Anyone heading to VA. Beach for the May 1st bike rallye? Good times for all!

A friend of mine is organizing a ride out here in April to benefit a local 14 year old boy who needs a heart transplant. It'll be a 100 mile ride and all the riders are getting sponsors to pledge them to raise money. I'll post details when I have them for anyone who'd care to join us.

I bought my 2K GS in Front Royal last summer - my first bike - just a couple weeks after taking the MSF course.  I lived in Charlottesville and had to get the bike home somehow, so my first real miles on two powered wheels outside of the course were down Skyline getting my bike home.  Such a beautiful ride...it was really hard to keep it to 35mph through those turns.  Wish I could join you folks...hoping for good weather for you.
