I just changed front brake pads and I'm hearing a metal on metal scrapping sound coming from the front caliper.  Is this normal or is something wrong?  I would think that there shouldn't be any drag.

Do you mean the normal "sushhhh" of the brakes dragging or a "screech" of metal on metal?

Brake drag is very common with new brake pads.  The pads haven't bedded in with the grooves of the rotor yet so it puts up extra resistance.

If you are getting metal on metal something is wrong.

Its more of the former, a shusshing sound - not screech.  I also haven't bled the brakes yet either.

If you just changed pads and didn't mess with the lines, you shouldn't need to bleed them...assuming you had good pressure before.
