Little GS Problem...

So, I went for about a 30 mile ride today and about 25 miles into it I pulled out from a stop, went through first gear, shifted into second and rolled into the throttle. Everything was great until about 7K when the bike felt like it had gotten hung up or something... it was still pulling it just hit these weird patches where it pulled really slow.

From that point on it did the same thing all the way til my house, I could lay into it but it just didnt feel right. It was like a hiccup in the powerband at random places.

Any ideas?  :dunno:

'preciate it,

Same thing happened to me shortly after I got mine... I had accidently left the petcock on res, and although I could still see gas in the tank...  A couple hours later and a few rides from friends, not to mention a couple gallons of gas, and she was purring like a kitten.  My only suggestion...

Yeah, I checked the gas setting... although it seems to me like my valve (the one for "ON", "RES" and "PRIME") is upside down or something. "ON" is at the top, and reads "NO" whenever I look at it from the correct way... is this normal? Or could this even be causing my problem?

Also, my bike had an inline fuel filter installed by a previous owner and it looks fairly gross... so I bought a couple small inlines from a local bike shop and I'm going to try replacing that. The bike feels great, it's just not getting enough gas in those spots it seems...

It also only seems to do it when going downhill from what I've gathered, that mean anything?

Thanks,
Scott

If the inline filter looks bad, that's the first obvious repair. My bike runs like total chit when the filter is even a tiny bit dirty.

I think actually the clip on the valve that indicates everything is upside down, not the entire valve itself. And i just changed the filter itself and I wish I could post pictures. I've never seen a filter that dirty in my life, I'm surprised the bike even ran before.

Gonna go see if that fixed the problem.

Later guys,
