Does anyone know if these are the right pilots jets for the GS?  I heard they had to be "non-bleeder" type, and this doesn't specify...  :dunno:  Thanks...

Need more info. Are you looking online or in the catalog? I have the catalog in front of me and they don't specify bleed or non-bleed, and because of that they'll probably be the bleed type. For some reason those seem to be the most common. Order from Cycle Gear, and have them order from Sudco.

Holes on the sides like a machine gun... = Bleed... OK the non bleeds have only the top and bottom holes... the one on the left side is nothign that will ever fit a GS BTW. The middle and right are bleed type or VM type... and 40's in those are not right... I have been able to make it work with 37.5's in those or 40 non bleeds. So If that is the only choice... get 37.5... in non bleed get 40's. And word of caution... the VM typr or the bleed type... only I have gotten 37.5 to work right... no one else has tried it or posted about it.
Cool.

Like Srinath said, you need the non-bleeder type, Mikuni part N151.067.

BikeBandit wants $9+ for the mains and $13+ for the pilots; figure $46 + s/h, or $50.   I saw a note on SVRiders about "total cost for jets $9.50", so had been expecting jets to cost about half that.

I know that some of you guys have had bad experiences with dealers - so have I - But this ALWAYS going to the web and mail order is often more expensive.  There are only a few companies that make carbs - Mikuni has about half the japanese bike market - every dealer I know has a box of jets laying around.  And they generally cost between $1 and $3 each - depending on the dealer.  If you have a pre 2001 you need 40 non-bleed type, if you have a 2001+ you need 20 bleed type.  The mains are standard Mikuni large head slot type (there are small and hex head types as well) If the part guys aren't helpful, see if you can talk to the mechanic - the odds are he has what you need squirreled away.  If you do not have a good motorcycle dealer, try an independent repair shop, outboard engine shop, small engine shop, snowmobile shop etc.  I did not pay as much for the main jets as Bike Bandit wants for shipping.

Yea but my dealer wanted me to spell mikuni... and he was going to order it and charge me for shipping ... and his mark up... Biker bandit sells 4 as a lot, 9.50 for mains... 4 of them, and 13.00 for 4 pilots... and shipping was like $3 or some like that... the place I ended buying from... dealer far away from me... that got it from K&L supply and didn't charge me shipping cos it was added to their weekly order... Just had to wait a week and a 1/2 for them to get their order up. BTW Ron Ayers is sorta near My area... closer to werase's place... but close enough.
Cool.
