is there a way to adjust the amount of effort required to pull the clutch lever?  mine feels kinda tight.

You can adjust the freeplay.  You should be able to pull the clutch lever about a half-inch before you hit the resistance.  However, once you hit that resistance, I don't think the amount of resistance is intended to be adjustable.
You cannot escape our master plan!

How exactly do you go about lubing the cables themselves?

Thanks.
