i dont remember if you wanted the speed four or the speed triple but the speed four got a huge price drop this year (the triple also)...i think msrp is 6499...my boss called a triumph dealership and they said they'd get him one for $5800, finance 4 years at 2.9% apr....cheaper than an sv650 and a hell of alot better too...now is the time pablo....im so jealous my boss right now...if he actually does go through with it (sometimes he does things to piss ppl off...eg. i say i really like it and its cheap now and would get one in black and he calls the dealer and asks them to order a black one) i WILL ride it and let everyone know how it is...
Don't mind me I'm just new.

pantablo

he's getting ripped off. I got a dealer offering me one at $5500 new or a demo model with 1000 miles for $5200. he can do much better.

I'm going to buy a honda superhawk though. If I were to buy a 600 I'd still get the speed 4...best value for your buck. Motorcyclist mag this month included it in their budget blasters or something like that but had to pull it and do a separate article on it because it stomped on the 599/sv650/fz6 so bad it wasnt a fair comparison.

Thanks for thinking of me though.

hopefully my boss WILL buy it and will get really really sick of it and realize what a huge mistake he was making and couldnt get out of the payments and has to sell it to me for real cheap. or i just take over his payments. haHA!

Speed Fours are neat. Thought about buying one myself, but I have not looked into it yet. My friend has a super hawk. He has a set of two brothers pipes on that bike and I swear the damn thing rattles our windows. It is a fast sucker to boot.

pantablo

I am currently negotiating for a 99 black superhawk with 2bros cabon pipes, stainless steel brake lines, carbon hugger, polished edges of rims, ZG double bouble, sargent seat, trimmed rear fender ( :thumb: ), 5100 miles, needs tires, $5500.

Nineteen ninety-nine was 5 yrs ago.  For that much money, buy new.

pantablo

new runs $10,999. I can get new out the door as low as $8300 but then you have to add the extras this bike has-ZG screen, cf hugger, sargent seat (like Corbin but better), helibars (those two alone are $300), 2brothers pipes (another $800?), stainless steel lines up front ($100),...and the black ones are rare (except 2004 new are black w/GOLD rims).

New doesnt make sense on this bike. On any bike actually since I'd rather someone else take the depreciation hit.

How many miles on it?  That's a cool looking paint scheme.

I say go for it Pablo!

Buying new also means you don't get those Two Brother pipes and everyone knows that a big twin needs to be uncorked in order to be properly enjoyed.

Owning a 1000cc bike myself I have to say I think I like the 600's better.  They are lighter, turn in easier, and offer all the sound end excitement while maintaining a easy docile ride except for the last 10%.  Not to say I don't like my z1000, it's just the extra hp seems utterly wasted.  I am sure my next bike will be a step down to a 600 again.  Whenever I get done with school and get a real job.  Till then I'll have to suffer with the Z.

Hey pantablo with that superchicken you won't have to photo-chop the wheelies!  :thumb: The bike looks sharp I'm sure you'll dig it

Pablo,

I thought you decided after riding an SV that you didn't like V-twins?  what changed your mind?

pantablo

I realized the sv had no power (relative to what I expected from a twin). I rode a ducati 900ss and LOVED it.
