Quote from: glenn9171Prime will only hurt if you start having problems with leaking carbs.  The fuell will drain into the carbs and onto the garage floor.

I was the victim of this a couple of times :( .  I always wondered where the fuel was dripping from.  I know that I've performed a "float level check" with a stuck float needle, that the level in the tube was about an inch above the top of the float bowl.  So presumably, the carbs are full up to about an inch above normal.

But I'm not sure where the fuel goes from there.  One of the times, alot of the fuel ented-up in the oil; but other times, it didn't seem to. I'm not sure why, but the last time I had a puddle of gas under the bike by mistake, I replaced the oil before starting it up, as a precautionary measure.
