Rejetting. What can be expected performance wise?

Rejetting: I did a quick search and didn't find much.  I was really looking for numbers as in HP gain,  quarter mile times, 0-60 times that sort of thing.

The supporting mods I assume are airfilter and exhaust, is that it?

Thanks,
Matt

Search for "race report" in the archives.  I have been rejetting then racing quarter mile and posting my elapsed times.  I installed the K&N pod filter (stock airbox delete) and have been dialing in the jetting.  You can expect a big increase in power that you can feel.  I think I started at 14.8 or something and last week I ran a 14.1.

OK those magazine  :guns:  weenies are impressive  :? ... anyway... it is dependent on each bike... RT should be deducted from the ET to actually see the effictiveness of the mod... cos you can easily miss a second in RT.
Cool.

Sorry but the clocks don't actually start until you roll out of the Guard Beam (16 inches in front of the starting line).

You can actually sit there for 5 minutes after the GO light if you wanted to and your ET would still be 14 seconds.  That's why a better reaction time wins races in bracket racing.  Because it is NOT subtracted from the ET.  You arrive at the finish line a distance ahead/behind your competitor that is equal to the difference in reaction time all other things being equal.  If you are behind him (slower off the line) then you have to run harder to still beat him to the line (which means you may break out and lose).

If you have ever raced deep staging, you will have seen your reaction time go very low, and your ET actually go higher (worse).  This is because you staged deeper (closer to the guard beam) so your bike did not have the advantage of that extra couple of inches of rolling before you "un-triggered" the guard beam".  A couple inches of running start can drop your ET by a few hundreths but it is harder to hit the low light (low RT).

and yeah, the mags say a stock GS runs 13.8 but I'd like to see somebody on here do it (there was one post a while back from somebody but I haven't seen any others).  The mags have a showroom stock bike with no wear on it and a professional racer that has years of seat time and launch experience.

My bike has 31K miles on it and I don't know that it's ever had a tuneup.

It's pretty easy to say "yeah my bike is fast because I beat a 5.0" or whatever but it's a whole 'nother thing to have a timeslip and track cred.

Timeslips and track clocks are not jaded by love of one's bike, they tell the (sometimes difficult to deal with) truth.

Sorry, should have said "he or she".  There are girl bike racers at my track, they rock.

There's just something about a woman in flame retardant pants to get a guy going....
