Went out to rip up the twisties today with the PSU motorcycle club.  They ride like crazy people, but there are always a coupla squids or newbs to run sweeper for... so I went out fully intending to take it easy.

so such luck... the only squid in the pack was on a GSXR750... in a Tee-shird and sneekers, mind you, so he blew me away in the straights, then slowed me down in the turns... got real annoying after a while... but anyway...

so the pack passes an SUV on a solid yellow, then stops at a gas station.  The irate driver is a civilian employee for the state police.  Naturally, she stops and starts yelling and writing down license plates... who gets it first.... the last guy in the pack... and I didn't even pass her!!!  :P   There was an R1 in the pack and I'm sure she thought I was him... crap.

ok, then...   after that I took a spot mid-pack wich was awesome, becuase the phychos pulled away and the squid slowed down the new sweeper, so I got to ride at my own pace.

We get to Ranovo.

we left Ranovo and I started running sweeper again... the whole pack does some crazy dangerous passing out on 144.  In particular, they passed a group of 4 harleys (who were trying to block the road, mind you.... vigilante-style) and blew on ahead, leaving me to play a F%cking game of road-chess with the pissed off Hog riders for 5 miles... they were all trying to wreck me and get me to pullover....no way in HELL was I gonna stop on some god-forsaken backroad by myself to have a 'chat' with 4 pissed off Hog riders.... so I ducked and weaved to keep them moving until finally, they made a mistake and slowed down too much in a safe passing zone... I dropped the R6 into 2nd and tore by... jeez.  I really think these guys wanted a fight.  I guess I can understand them being pissed off from the riders ahead of me, but damn...

so long story short... I don't think I will be riding with the PSU motorcycle club anymore.  Being the safest rider in the pack puts you in the position to take the most crap for other riders actions... NO THANKS!!!!

so there I was driving home from seeing George Carlin last night....11 pm
following a H-D.....
every time he slowed down...the bike would TWITCH severely
it was soooo bad my back was tingling....

followed him for a while
he had no brake light
he ran off the road once to the right...3 inch drop off
and saved it without really slowing down and got back up on the road.

then I figured it out....he was f&*(#in asleep!!!!!!!

tried to get him to stop at a gas station to buy him coffee....he kept on riding....... i hope he made it.

either that or he was drunk..

i dont like to ride with hooligans.. i think i am more of a safe and sane rider who will still punch it in the canyons but i will not break the law for the sake of doing so.

I prefer to be on my own, or riding with safe and sane riders than keeping up with the pack. The one time I went riding with this local biker hang out group i hated it.. the other guy i was with liked it and hung with them and got their bad habits. These days if its him and I, I still take the lead and set the pace even though he is on a more powerful bike..

I guess experience counts as well with sanity and love of life. Also what newtonnet said..

Quoteirate driver is a civilian employee for the state police.

Did she Claim to be police? did she show a badge? throw your jacket over the plate, and DARE her to aproach your bike and lift your property. There aint a law on the planet that says you have to show your tag to a Civilian. but there are a few about protecting your property from "Theft"

or  wait till she comes up yelling and what, Sock her in the Jaw and call the cops,   You are afriad this "Irate Driver" is showing signs of road rage and was in fear for your life  (wouldnt recomend it though)
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

^-By the time I knew what was going on I'm sure she alrady had written my plate down.

There's not much she can do but file some kind of complaint.  There was no officer there and there were bikes going by everywhere.  She has no idea who passed her and who didn't...  One of the guys from the group tried to talk to her, but she was seeing red at the time.  The more I think about it the less it bothers me that she wrote down my plate.  As long as I'm not getting my plates called into the cops every other day, I doubt anything would come of it...

But the point of the post is that I was taking some serious sh*t for the actions of other riders.  That ride had disaster written all over it from the very beginning.  The whole group was parked illegally at the meeting place  ... what was I thinking?

I've got a few friends getting their licenses soon... It cant wait to have some sane riding buds.

I rode with vtlion on Skyline 1.0. The four of us on the ride had very similar riding styles so the trip was pure joy. :thumb:

I sympathize with you Ron (aka: vtlion), you look forward all week to a ride on the weekend only to fine its with a bunch of kids that are more interested in showing-off than just riding for the joy of it. Be patient, we'll get a good group for Skyline 2.0.
As my Uncle Bilbo used to say, "It's a dangerous thing taking your motorcycle out of the garage. If you don't keep your wits about you there's no telling where you'll be swept off to."

Hey, vtlion

I see you've finally started going up the 144.  What'd you think?

Pretty @#$%ing amazing, don't you think?

I have no qualms about splitting off in order to avoid riding with jackasses.

yeah, I've gotta say, it was a pretty awesome road... I think I will have to enjoy it on a solo ride sometime.  Only problem is that its soooo far out that my phone doesn't get a signal, so a little company would probably be safer

the countryside is beautiful and the road is in awesome shape for how remote it is.. a good ride that I would recommend to all (just not with a pack of clowns  :nono: )
