i'm 5'8"...anyone know if this is a good windscreen for the GS??...

I want it to protect me from the wind when i'm on the freeway...to take the weight off my chest and head...

is this big enough to do the job?...where does the wind hit?
is it noisy???

Thanks in advance :thumb:

I fitted the F16 screen (tinted) to the 1996 GS.  It fits pretty easily to the headlight brackets with no issues.

As far as protection I found that it takes the wind pressure off my chest (6' tall) and the wind hits my helmet, the windblast is pretty steady so it doesn't blast me around a bit like some other shields that cause a fair bit of turbulance.  My wife who rides the bike the most (5' something) finds the wind will hit her either at the bottom of the helmet or higher up depending on the tilt of the screen - either way it makes long fast stretches a lot more comfortable and less tiring.

Hope this helps

I think I have that one, the day I bought my bike, it was gone. I still have it, if you are interested in it, super-duper cheap. I never rode with it, just not my thing. BTW: mine is clear if you want it, it has small crack in it around one of the screws so $10+s/h? let me know, or it may be finding it's way to the garbage when it comes time to move again.

Looking at the Sport Shields section of the National Cycle online catalog, I notice that they offer both a Tour Shield and a Sport Shield version of the F-16.

Which one are you thinking of getting?  The Tour Shield version seems like it would provide additional protection for your head.
