A little help with my GS please

I know I'll always have questions about my bike so instead of me always making a new topic I'll post them here.

1. I'm always reading on the board how the GS hits it's best acceleration over 7,000rpm. On my bike anything over 7,000rpm is much slower in acceleration. For instance I'm in 3rd gear 5,0000rpm, opening up the throttle gives me decent acceleration but from 7,000rpm to 8,000rpm I dont feel the same acceleration as I did at 5,000 to 6,000rpm.
Could someone explain this to me please ?

2. Anyone know of better tails for our bikes? I don't like the blocky rear look of the brake light and was hoping I could put on a rounder plastic os different tail light to give me that effect.

Thanks.

  your from sarasota huh?

You need to re-jet it to get rid of the "hole" in the throttle.

Do a search and youll find tons about it.

My bike dosen't have a center stand. What do you use to get the front end or back end up off the ground? Do I have to buy one or is their an alternative?

Cheap route would be buying a used center-stand off this board. Or they sell universal racing stands that would work as well.

1.  Not sure.  jetting might be a consideration here.  One way to check your jetting involves reading your spark plugs.  You have to do this at the various throttle openings.  In your case, you are interested in WOT (wide open throttle).  Find a long stretch of road no-one uses.  Run the bike at WOT for a few seconds, pull in clutch and hit stop "engine kill" switch.  Plugs should be light brown.  Black is too rich and white is too lean.  I may have left some things out but I think Srinath posted a how-to on this (or someone did).

2.  I bought a CBR 600F4 tailight for my bike.  Should look sweet when installed.  I will use an adapter bracket to make it look right.  You have to angle it right to look good with the tail plastic.  The GS bulb sockets will plug into it.  This was nicebelair's idea.
