When is it time to replace fork seals? My seals are leaking a little bit. They look good - no dry rot, cracks, etc. Nice and smooth. But there's definitely oil coming out of them when they compress. The forks are from a '99 GSX-R 600. Thanks.

Change 'em... once they start to leak they need to be changed...
Nothing worse then bottoming out and damaging your precious gixxer forks...

Also, the seals you see aren't actually the seals. Those are just dust protectors. And you don't want your fork, oily, as this accumulates dirt and will make the seals wear quicker, might even damage the pipe.

Thanks. I'll order 'em up today. What a Buddha Loves You. All I want to do is ride the track day, but every day something new gives up!!

Do you notice whats just beneath your leaky fork seals???

Yes, that's right, your front BRAKE.

Now let's see, OIL and a brake?

You gotta replace those seals dude.

It's not coating my brakes dude!! Just wetting the tubes.

Besides...my old bmx bike never had brakes and it rode just fine!!
