hey guys I just finished installing my jets and every thing. Alls well after wrestling that air box inplace and installing all the hoses. I do have one missing piece of the puzzle. There is a "T" connector that is on the upper part of the carburator exactly like the lower. The lower hose goes to the fuel valve but this upper one has me stumped. I looked through chapter 8 in the manual and it dosn't even show the upper hose. Just the lower...what gives? [btw it's not the vacume hose that goes to the left side] It is in poor man's rejetting pictorial as a hose that just goes over the air box

Note- I think it's an overflow gas hose...I've routed it over the carbs and down into the air filter....Would this be correct since it will burn the excess fuel? Or do I route it so that the excess drains out the tube and on to the ground  [don't tell the EPA]

It's the float bowl vent. It basically provides an atmospheric pressure reference for the the float bowls. The tube is supposed to go down under the airbox, where the air is relatively still. Putting it in the air filter inlet is a bad idea.

its a vent
run it forward over the top of the engine

it is on page 4-2 in factory service man

if a california model....  it's a purge hose and goes to a canister under the battery ... i think

yeah what he said above

Agree on the function. Don't quite agree on the placement. Look at this:

Wow - cool diagram!  I don't pretend to know German, so the "translations" in the modified diagram below are really just my own descriptions:

Which fare quite well as translations go. :)

I was just to lazy to translate and re-host; figured that everybody would be able to figure that out. Thanks for the edit!
