YZF 600R, or a Honda Interceptor.

I'd like to do some sport touring with a large emphasis on sport rather than touring.  I like the Yamaha FJR 1300 but it's huge.  I know you can take off the bags and it's sporty, but it's still a big bike.

Thinking about another bike is against my religon.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Yes those are very nice, I also really like the new F4i, its a better seat and riding position than the 600RR.  Not sure that I'll be ready to jump to the I4 on my next though, that means more realistically a SV.

I'm looking for a classic - something from 1973 preferably... maybe a CB750, CB500, XS650, or something like that...  I plan to build a bobber out of it.  I'm becoming more and more interested in older bikes from japan and converting into something they were never intended to be - like bobbers or cafe racers...

YZF 600R would be good for sporty touring, but I just melt when I see a Gixxer 600.  An R6 would be nice too but my damn university keeps taking my money!

With any luck:

CR500 motor/TZ250 framed roadracer
Got my eye on a older KTM DXC300 if I can swing a cheap deal or fair trade.
I see a GS450 project in my future, too.

I'm also keeping my eye out for a lucky deal on a DRZ or TTR 125L.

I know a guy with (2) Kaw 400's in different states of assembly that I may make one good runner out of.

Maybe either a Monster 800 or a Thruxton 900.

SV1000S i took one for a test ride this spring and damn was it a blast. i clicked third and before i knew it i was breaking 100mph (i am used to third only getting me to 70-80 and taking a while to get there) i liked it more than the gsxr600, R6 and CBR600F4i, but i lost my great deal whin the salesman i was talking to switched dealers :( ($8,300 and change out the door) but such is life.
next summer i will have it

The wish list would include the Yamaha FJR1300, Honda ST1300, or perhaps a Beemer. Yep, a sport-tourer is in the future.

Some form of roadrace bike, either 125GP, FZR 400 (perhaps 3TJ?), NSR/RGV250 or built EX500 (there's one locally that I'm interested in)

I've also wanted a 1998 style VFR800 for the last 5 years.  I don't know if I'll be doing much street riding anymore though.

Maybe a dual purpose for around town?
