What do you have on your GS500's keychain?  Mine came with some old, beat up rubber disk that was a freebie somewhere.  Freebies are cool, but it has nothing to do with me.  So I'm looking for ideas for a new keychain (that won't damage anything when it bounces around in the wind).  Post your pics or descriptions or anything cool you've seen.

Something that won't scratch the crown.  I have just a small plastic container for the earplugs.  What does it say about "me"?  good hearing, I guess ???

I use a carabiner(sp?) one of those mountain climbing clip things. Its great because i have the bike key on its own ring so when its in the ignition there's nothing else dangling there. The rest of the keys i can stick in my pocket or clip to my belt if i wanna play nerdy-engineer

As I replaced the ignition switch on my GS I actually have 2 keys (the ignition and the tank/seat key).  I use a leather tab-like key chain that is about 1 1/2" by 1/2" simply to help identify the keys by feel in my pockets.  I also have a seperate key ring for home (house, cars, etc) and work (patrol cars, gates, buildings, locker, 'cuffs, etc).  The leather on the key chain doesn't mar up the crown like a metal keychain would.

i always hated my big ring of keys flying around up there too, so i just keep my motorcycle key seperate, and always zipped into the inner pocket of my jacket by itself.  it makes sure i never lose it, and that i always have my jacket on when i ride.  that's my tip anyway.

I use one of those split-apart keychains with a ring on each end. I have my motorcycle key on one and the rest of my keys and my car alarm remote on the other.

I only put the side with my motorcycle key in when i ride it usually, so it doesn't flap around, and also so it doesn't cover up my instruments.

hmmmm   you can make a key earring, like a condom earring, just wear you earring as a fashion statement, then when you go ride take it off ear put helmet on use key in bike you good to go!!

Unfortunately I have my disc lock key and my house key on my keychain :( but my handlebar is already badly marked up from before I got my bike, so not too worried.  My keychain... it's a soft plastic Gundam with a big ass beam rifle that I picked up from Japan  :thumb: Cool as hell, and it lays across my handlebar so it faces me as I ride  8)

i have all my keys on one ring, But, on all my bikes, i put a zip tie through/around bars in a loop and clip keys to it. been more then once i pulled a wheelie or hit a bump to watch a worn out ignition lock spit the key at me.  My 650 Maxim is like that, but i clip the catch to clutch cable. My GS has a loop of ziptie poking out from between gauges and topclamp.

I have my Suzuki dealers leather fob with bike, groundbolt and topbox key and they have a habit of getting stuck under the bar, one day I'll bust one getting it out. I like gitarman's solution, probably try something like that. House & work keys are a totally seperate item.

Garrity (and probably others) makes a neat LCD flashlight that is an almost flat plastic rectangle, about 1/2" x 1" (smaller than most keys) with a button on/off on one side.  One of these is on each of my motorcycle keyrings.  Nice to know I've got at least one bright little LCD light with me all the time, as I often commute after dark.

I don't have a keychain. I used to but I hated the sound it made when it flopped around at speed and it usually managed somehow to always cover the turn signal light.  :x
