Bad Gas??

Can anyone describe the effects of bad gas- I filled up yesterday and today have noticed a couple little problems.  I had a couple little pops like it was backfiring but...  and then later I'm dropping into a turn at twice the recommended speed and the bike hickups and boggs down for a brief second (scaring the poo poo out of me).  

I'm hoping it's bad gas but I've also heard of similiar things happening to others on the board and they ended up having to check and reshim their valves.

Generally, bad gas comes from water mixing with it.  Which sounds to me like what you could be experiencing.  Go by your local auto parts store and pick up some stuff that you pour in your gas tank to get rid of the water. It won't hurt to try this and spend 5 or 6 bucks before you tear your bike apart or take it to a dealer
