Hi Guys,

I will have wait & see if  I'm working that weekend.

Muldoon,
The Snowy ride is  a ride  to raise money for childrens cancer institute australia .
it'a not a race or a rally , all you need to do is make three of the check points out of 7 (which the last is to be at thredbo by 4.00pm on the Sat  the check points are all around the snowy area.  A lot s ppl go down on Fri so they can make a day of . then they can be fresh for the ride on Sat.
it's about a 458.89 kms to Jindabyne & then it's about 30km's to thredbo

here a links that will help http://www.snowyride.com.au it's ok there is a Email addy if you need to anythink or there is a Ph if you like I can post it .

I have put in for a week off  I'm planning to Ride down on the Fri so I can be Fresh for  Sat. I will be staying at a  ski Log at east Jindabyne ( Which I'm a member of) take care guys & safe Riding

all the best matt:) your friend

Hi all,
I went up the putt road yesterday and it was ace. If you had a big bike im sure the straights would be alot more fun but some of the corners are superb and the scenery is magic. What I would suggest for our ride is the same route I did. Windsor, putty road, broke, wollemi then back down the old road for a pie. About 350km from windsor and an excellent day. The road from wollemi to mangrove is sensational if a little deceptive at times. (Read I almost crashed!) Much fun! :thumb:

Lukewarm Wilson

Thats the way we went when benny crashed so I know what you mean and I over shot a corner up there last time :thumb:  :cheers:

I got a Distinction :) for Computer Systems and networks (or something :dunno: ) I was pretty happy with that.

There is a ride this weekend that I might be going along with, it's being organised on the OCAU board. details are here: http://www.overclockers.com.au/mc/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3561
Don't Panic.

Muldoon

Hey Panik
Well Done on your exams! :thumb:  You deserve a ride out after that!

Stuart782

Hi guys;
Lasttime I posted I am not sure where I posted , as I couldn't see where it came up, fortunately you guys found me. It is great to see there is something of a following for our beloved bikes. I keep thinking I will get a fatser sports bike but my GS500 is great, comfortable, practical (I can actually carry stuff in the back pack), and performs very well. Prolly won't change it.

I would love to come on a Putty ride! As I said all my friends are car people so I don't get to go on many pleasure rides. I will keep watch on the forum and see if the dates are aialable.

Talk soon

Stuart

PS. Glad to here your mate who came off is OK.

matt86to

Hi Stuart,
Welcome to the group  :) . I also have been thinkg about getting a bigger bike but I'm happy with the GS 500 mainly because I have only been riding since last Nov  take care & I hope to see ya on one of the rides :cheers:

Good work with the exams Panik good to hear, and welcome Stuart I do hope to able to make the putty run depending on the tyres so hope to see you there :thumb:  :cheers:

Welcome coleman,
glad you have joined us, a ride is due in early august (still not sure I can make it :(  but hopefully I will  :) ) up the putty so keep watching this space.
But I usually like to make it up the old road at least each second weekend but Ive been a bit slack lately with my dodgey tyres but no doubt we'll see you up there. I'll put a post up when I head up there next and I'm sure we can arrange the group to go up there sometime. How about it everyone? :thumb:  :cheers:

All right lads, if I remember correctly there is a ride on up the putty road this weekend?? Is everyone still keen?? Have only been trundling around the last week and feel the need. And Lukewarm, you better be there! Bring Geoff and Ben (if he is still riding :o ). What time shall we meet and where? Windsor sound good for everyone??

Still havent got my tyres yet but should have enough for a ride up and back. So I should be able to make it  :dunno:
Bens bike is still in the shop and I doubt it will be ready for the weekend but I'll speak to geoff see if he is keen.
Time should be flexable to me so what does everyone else want to do? just not to early because its freezing in the mornings out there  :o

Saturday is good for me.

How about we meet in the carpark of McGraths Hill Maccas at 9:30am for a 10am start. That's not too early is it?

If people need petrol there is a Mobil about 300m down the road.

I believe that Bikers Anon is doing the same run, but with an earlier start, but they might be doing Sunday.

Here are pics from the 25/7/04 Putty Rd run that I went on with the http://www.overclockers.com.au/mc/forums/ and Hayabusa club.

I have a Uni assignment to finish anyway.

I'm going to go along on the BA run on Sunday instead:
==========================================
Putty Road to Wollombi Ride

Date: Sunday, August 8, 2004
Time: 9:30AM EST (GMT+10:00)

You can never get tired of riding the Putty Road, theres a bit
of everything from fast sweepers to tight twisties and some
looonnnggg straights.

Meet at 9:30 for 10 am Mobil Servo at Mc Graths Hill.

Ride Rating  = 4 bikes
==========================================

Speaking of new tyres, my rear is going bald, so I'm up for a new set.
The choices appear to be: Dunlop GT501s, or Bridgestone Battlax BT45s.

I was going to go for the Dunlops, but I've done a little reading on the net, and now I'm probably going for the Bridgestones.

Does anyone have any experience, preference or know any other options?
Don't Panic.
