Over this past winter I put about 1500$ into my GS. Please don't laugh! Below are some twenty two pics of what I did. This isn't even close to enough to do it justice. There were alot of things I wish would have gotten snaps of but just didn't.

Here is a basic rundown of my inproved bike.

New:
Perrli Diablos
Progressive springs
Katahna shock
GSXR 650 Rear rim
V&H exhaust
K&N Pod filter
New clutch
New Grips
New bar ends (Stock)
Powdered frame
Powdered wheels
Silver Ford truck paint
custom licence plate holder
Blickers in front
Removed 8lbs of grease and grime!

Here are the pics in chronological order from old to new:

1989' GS500 - V&H Exhaust, K&N Pod, 137.5, 40, no washers
89' GSX-R rear rim, 150/60, and Katana shock

going fast isnt the problem, its the crashing and burning that hurts

etam

nicely done!

didn't know that milk box is that strong!

jdiggity

damn fine job, did you paint the silver yourself?

gitarman

Real sharp looking. I like seeing the love for an all black engine, with the black frame it looks real speed-tripleish.

Wow, that's gorgeous! Congratulations for a job very well done.  :thumb:

very nice  :thumb:
is it just me or do you see more and more rebuilt/repainted/modified gs500 recently?

Good work! Great looking bike. Whoever thinks the black-framed 2004s are ugly should take a serious gander at your GS. I would've opted for black on black on black, including gas tank and side covers, but i'm weird like that.

hehe... i did the same thing this winter.  i'm suprised i got it back together.  didn't do the wheels or tank and plastics yet, but black frame.  was gonna do the plastics and tank a darker, metallic silver :)

You have done some damn nice work. For this, I salute you!

Lovely, but I'd have given you an arm and a leg for the white stuff and traded you mismatched body work to boot... Damn... Also black frame would have stood out with the whites, just take off the decals and put on your minimal carbon look decals.
Cool.

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the '89 tank: "Srinath's been looking for one of those for 2-3 years now."

'Course, I remember you weren't wlling to pay the "arm and a leg" that the wrecker in CA was charging.  Maybe they wanted a BIGGER arm and a BIGGER leg than what you're talking about?
