How much use are you getting out of these tires? I have 2 track days on a set and the front is almost shot The center is still in good shape, just the sides are nearly down to the wear indicators. Maybe 1 session left. The rear is holding up fine.

Maybe once I have the 555 installed the rear will be wearing at a closer rate to the front. I will have a newly bored cylinder next week.

I get about 6 hrs of endurance racing on a set. Could probably get 7 or 8 but since each race is 3 hrs, I don't want to be out there on hr 9 with tires going off.

Also, track surface plays a role. If you've been on some abrasive tracks, your tires will wear faster.

I am not surprised that you are wearing the front faster than the rear. The GS's lack of hp is certainly allows rears to last longer. If you charge hard into the corner, you'll be putting a lot of forces on the front.

Still, you may have a setup issue on your front suspension that may be adding wear to the front. What is your setup and what pressures have you been running?

I do push turns hard. Now I do remember that I heard that Jennings is an abrasive track. Tally was not as bad on wear as Jennings.

As for suspension, the tires are not wearing odd, just faster than I thought.

I run 29 front & rear, according to my gauge. I have 2 gauges of the same make and read 2 pounds different.

You can try 30 PSI front and rear and see how that feels. Jennings on a hot day (That's anything after March!) you will likely get the tires up to temp on 30 PSI.

I'd stick to 29/29 at Tally.

Remeber, race tires are not designed for longevity!

This past Sunday at Jennings it was 90 by 10am and 93 around lunch time, in the shade. Never looked at the temp after lunch.

I will try 30 next time at Jennings. I need to get my gauge calibrated. When I get another front mounted, I will have stickboy calibrate for me.

I will glady take traction over longevity. Tires are a lot cheaper than repairing after a crash.
