Before I get started, I would like to thank the people on their postive feedbacks and advice concerning the gs500e.  I am happy to say I'm a proud owner of a 2000 gs500e with only 3000 miles.

After purchasing the bike I took it out on the road (first time on the road for me).  I must say this is a great bike.  Not to much power, but good enough to learn and better your skills.  I did things today that I didn't do in my msf course.  Before coming to the light, down shifting to proper gear.  It may sound boring to some of u guys, but I have to give myself a pat on the back.  Although I got a little bit to cocky.  I was coming to a turn doing about 30mph, when I almost ran up on a curb.  I didn't panick, just push the handlebar a little, slightly ease of the throttle.  Back to reality I told myself.  I'm still a rookie with a lot to learn.  I work 2nd shift 2-10pm.  I had use 4hr vacation so I can ride my new bike.  After the first couple of hours, I called my job and told them instead of 4hrs lets make it 8.   Can you blame me?  Riding a bike is a natural high.  Okay I guess I bored u guys enough, I just had to get that of my chest.  Thank you guys for making me feel welcome.

Hey Cartel,

Nice one mate. I couldnt agree more about the first ride thing and practising stuff. It feels good to nail a really smooth upchange/downchange. Im trying to put it all together and have the voice of my instructor constantly in my head. Whcih I guess is a good thing except he sounded like marge simpson. But he wouldnt have been too proud of my stall/panic/recovery/million revs /wobbley departure from the lights. Lucky the helmet hid my red face...
