Due to my constant misfortune with my GS and my inability to do self repairs as well as my inability to do my own tech. repairs due to my lack of mechanical skills i'm gonna sell my beloved GS.  Currently it's in the shop awaiting a new gasket. (gaskets have been my curse) and from having read alot of the posts here it seems many of you have the skills to probably take care of such a problem with little expense so i just wanted to give ya a heads up and maybe ask for some advice.

My bike is a Black 2002 GS with about 5500 miles on it.  It's got Pirelli Sport Demons with about 150 miles on them, Full Vance + Hines exhaust system, Progressive fork, stage 1 jet kit, and napolean mirrors, i'll even throw in the handy Joe Rocket saddlebags.

The shop it's in also buys bikes so i'm gonna ask them their offer but i would like to know what a fair price would be to offer.  I'm not looking to squeeze every cent i can outta the deal but i would like to sell it for a fair price and preferably to a nice person that can take care of her and treat her well.

I hope to post some pics soon as the gasket is installed and she's cleaned up a bit then i'll ask the shop owner for an offer...if nothing good comes of that then i'll post her on this board then of course theres Ebay and Craigslist.

My question for all you wise and helpful seers....

What is a fair price....and for that matter whats the best way to sell her....?

Thanx in advance yall!!!    :thumb:      :thumb:

MCN's `03 used bike listings
http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/usedbike/200403UsedBikeGuide02.pdf say 3140.00.  This being `04, 3000.00 may be a good starting point.  If you didn't dispose of the stock pipe, put it back on; you can always throw in the VH to close the deal.  Personally, I would just stick with print ads.  Displaying the bike with  for sale signs has never worked for me.  YMMV.

My bad.  That URL does link to the `04 used bike value guide.   The higher figure is the current MCN appraisal.

Not that I'd want to live there, but bikes are easier to sell in urban areas like NYC.  Good luck.
