Mirrored Visors?

I was thinking about getting a mirrored visor for my helmet.  Are mirrored visors tinted in anyway reducing the visibility at all for night riding or cloudy days.  The last thing I want is to have to change my visor all the time.  Would i be able to ride at night and day, cloudy or sunny w/ a mirrored visor?

Thanks,
Matt

My mirrored visor is mirror blue, and I'd say is like a light smoke tint when it comes to blocking sun/glare - You can ride with it from early dusk to late dawn, but when there's no natural light left, you're riding home with the visor up.

Cant use tint at night :nono:
In Australia it is illegal to ride at night with a tinted visor and after my last camping trip when I forgot my clear visor I can understand why pitch black country road no moon light and just the faint glow of my friends BMW 1150R tail light to follow with the visor down cant see crap with it up cant see crap because my eyes where full of tears :( (mind you I was still able to see the Kangaroo in the middle of the road that he just missed) and my visor is Iridium so not quite as bad a tint so unless you dont mind changing visors and having your clear one with you just in case just get sunglasses but I still prefer the visor sunglasses push against the side of me head and cause pain about an hour into the trip its not the helmet its just me

I have 2 shields for my HJC CL-14.  One is light smoke and the other is silver mirror.  The mirrored visor looks very cool, but I rarely use it because it scratches easily and sometimes when the light shines in my helmet I get a weird reflection on it.  I can see my nose and face reflecting in the inside of the mirrored visor.  Its very distracting.  The light smoke visor doesn't have the annoying reflections that the mirrored one has so I use it most of the time.

The light smoke has never been a problem for me at night, but I very seldom ride at night.

You can also put a pair of safety glasses under your seat for riding with the visor up at night.  It keeps bugs out of your eyes.

I have a gold mirrored shield.  I love it, much more comfy than sun glasses.  Good tint for the sunny days and I think it increases contrast a bit on cloudy days.

Its illegal to ride at night with it, but it can be done on well marked roads, but I wouldn't advise it.  On back roads with no lines painted on them, in pitch dark can be done but would be very unwise.  :o

I carry a clear one in my tank bag or just plan ahead and switch it before I leave the house.
