I already have a 15t sprocket, and thinking about getting a larger rear sprocket (i've read here that going smaller than 15 in front can cause problems with the chain)... so I need to order a new chain anyway since its time, and I'm thinking this would be the right time to go larger in the rear... if I decided to do it... I'm thinking 42 or 41 teeth... I do a decent amount of city riding and a lot of changing speed not a lot of cruising around here! so I think it would be fun to go larger.. has anyone else done this mod out there?? and what would be the right size chain to get if I was running 15t-front/42t-rear... 520 x 112?? Please advise. Thanks all!

112 links sounds safe. I'm runnin' a 16 front/40 rear and 110 links. If you have a chain breaker, you can always shorten it. Then you'll have a shorter wheelbase.

cool... actually, kneedraggers.com has the D.I.D. 520VM xring chain i want for $89... and it ONLY comes in 120 link... so I'll get that and just break it to the right size...

does a chain press tool (for example this one) work with clip and rivet type master links? and what is typically recommended? rivet type must be stronger, no??
