I crashed my bike in the North Georgia mountains last week sunday ...

Y'all can view the pix from

One of the other guys in the group also went down later in the day but he was able to ride his bike home. One of the guys who rides here is helping me put the bike back together. I was lucky enough to walk away jus a lil bit sore. My gear saved me and the ditch as well

BTW if y'all have any lil or big parts that you might be just throwing away let me know cause I might need the part ... will pay for shipping.

Thanks,
Neil.

bummer.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you crash there?  It looks like a straight a couple hundred feet from the turns?

well from what i see, if you went and got after market everything, it should only run you about $250-$400 depending on what aftermarket stuff you get!!   so if you was planning on upgrading the stock bars, turnsignals, mirrors etc.. no would be a good time as any.

Well I was coming out of a turn ... actually I was already out of the turn and I had gone a lil wide so before I could straighten the bike up the front tire caught the edge of the road and the bike just went out from under me. I went tumbling into the ditch and the bike fliped over me. I was lucky I went into the ditch or the bike would have crushed me.

vtlion

wow... that sucks...

I'll bet the ride home on the pillion of an R1 was not too fun either

I must say, its good to see that nobody got hurt though.  Looks like everybody's middle fingers were working just fine after the accident   I haven't seen that many middle fingers up at the same time since MY last group ride  :nana:

the dude who is helping me fix the bike checked it out and yeah the damage is suferficial. Once he welds the swing arm end caps back on and I put on srinath's bars the bike will be on the road ... just wont be pretty. Will make it into a street fighter part by part  :)

Nomak

ok have run into a lil minor prob... the bike only runs cold ... once the engine warms up the bike cuts off and only starts again once the engine cools back down ... any ideas as to what might be wrong?

OK swingarm end caps... they aren't welded to begin with... what are you welding... I think the fixer might be more dangerous than the crash...  :o
Cool.

My guess is crap in the tank got into the carbs and they are gunked up.  Probably should clean the carbs and remove tank and rinse out.

Just a guess.  Srinath would know better.

OK I am with john... though I dont know why I would know better   ...
But your right side case cover wasn't smashed to bits in the pics I saw... so the insides might be OK. usually 1 cyl starts to cut out instead of both in case that was bad.
Cool.

You are replacing your helmet, right?  It looks like it impacted on the upper left above the visor.  That exact helmet can be replaced for only $164 from helmetharbor.com, while supplies last.  I'd think piece of mind is easily worth that much.
