I took the MSF course awhile back but never came around to buying a bike until yesterday.  I'm very excited   about my new purchase and would really appreciate any feedback or advise on my new 2004 GS500F. (BLUE/WHITE- THE COOLEST) :thumb:

Since it is my FIRST bike and I don't want to damage the fearings, does anyone know of where I can get a hold of some frame sliders that will fit?

i dont think there are frame sliders available for the 2004 as yet.

even so there is no way to mount it..

you just got to be careful.. or just take off the side panels and ride..

Thanks for the info but if frame sliders will fit an '03 then I don't think there should be a problem mounting them on an '04.  I could just ask my boyfriend to drill the farings to make it fit.

I guess it would work if you drill the fairings. Just make sure the sliders are long enough since they were designed for a naked bike.

Well done on your purchase. These are great bikes! Im a veteran now having had mine for almost 2 weeks! They are very easy to ride for beginners and she has tolerated my hamfisted riding without complaint.. well so far! Good luck with your bike :thumb:

Thanks guys for all the feedback so far.  I also just got my jacket on ebay today.  Believe me, I'm so anxious to have my bike already...I want to be prepared when I got on my baby for the first time!  I also can't wait to receive my helmet some time next week...it's the TK77 Blue Devil special edition!  It's a gorgeous helmet and the best part of it is, is that I'll be the only one in town with a helmet and a bike like mine!!!!  Any other information is definitely appreciated.  I'll be on regularly for any info.
thanks again

Brownsville, Texas! Isn't that the town of "Delta Dawn" fame?

(For all you Helen Reddy fans out there....)

"She's 41 and her daddy still calls her 'baby'.
All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy."

[...]

"And did I hear you say
He was a meetin' you here today,
To take you to his mansion in the sky....?"

===================================

Does this "date" me, or what?  Hey, I'm 41 too!  (But I don't think my daddy EVER called me 'baby'....)

Sorry, bluedevil.  I kinda got carried away....

Don't feel bad, Kerry.  I was sitting at a stop light in my cage last week when I suddenly realized that I was singing along to "I Am Woman."   :?

I've got to see about upping my medication.

Anyway, here she is, and I think she still looks pretty good.
