I just picked up a Tank Bra from a local used bike dealer. He basically gave it to me. It did not come with instruction on how to mount it on my tank. I can pretty much figure it out except for two elastic straps with hooks. Check out this link and you'll see the straps with hooks on the bottom http://home.comcast.net/~jeppyfrost/tank_bra.jpg I don't know were they hook. Does anyone know where they go? Can you tell me were?  Any help would be much appreciated...... :thumb:

Thank you.........

Remove seat. Installation is easier if you remove the rear tank bolts (less chance of pulling the rubber trim off).
Pull the tail body panels out of the front grommet so they are lose around the tank.
Starting at the back, slot the tabs in between the tank and the frame.
After they are in, pull the elastic band over the front of the tank so that its between the tank and the frame, on or under the rubber trim.
Pull the rear strap things down and hook them on to the battery bracket of the subframe.
Reinstall the tail, tank and seat.

Oh BTW- Make sure your tank is very clean & waxed before you install the bra. Otherwise it may get scratched if there is dirt between them.

It is pretty much for protection of the tank. Incase your zippers on your pants or jacket scratch the tank and also for looks. It just looks better than those tank protector stickers that don't fit right on your tank.

another use for a tank bra, though, and a little more on the practical side, is to put something between your legs and your metal tank when riding in really cold weather..

believe me, it makes a difference. ;-)  Kerry lent me his over the winter.

Great news! I just saved a bundle on car insurance by switching to a motorcycle!
