for those of you that have used the Sunstar sprocket, have you found that they are worth the extra $$ compared to the parts unlimited or jt sprockets?  also, if i want to lower the front sprocket to a 15t  is it still safe to keep the rear 39t?  last question:  at denniskirk you can get a parts unlimited  520 x-ring for half the price as that of the D.I.D.,  is there really a bid difference?

thanks for the help guys.  especially kerry, all the info. from the previous posts have been a big help.

p.s.  someone just stole my brand new denniskirk cover    :x  :x   if i find out who it was  :guns:  :nana:

It's safe. Is the rear still good? Maybe flip it over :dunno: .
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

This is a good time to confess about a mistake I made in past messages.

You may remember this photo:

In the past I consistently labeled the sprockets, left-to-right, as my OEM sprocket, a "shoulder-less" Sprocket Specialists unit, and a Sunstar sprocket.

Guess what?  I ran across my original packaging a while back, and the sprocket on the right is actually a JT Sprockets unit!  (I guess I made a bad assumption because of the "sunburst" logo stamped into the sprocket itself.)  I'm plenty impressed with the JT Sprockets unit, and would recommend it.

RE: the Parts Unlimited X-ring chain.  How about being our "guinea pig"?  I would bet that, at roughly 1/2 the price, the chain will last significantly more than 1/2 as long...!

Jt sprockets are good.  I run them on my dirtbike and they hold up well and dont cost as much as the others.
