Choke adjustments?

I've had my bike about 3 months now, and I've noticed that when the bike is warm and the choke is off, the bike hesitates at about mid throttle.  When I leave the choke on about 10% it runs perfectly.  Is this jetting, choke in need of adjustment, or something else?   :dunno:  The only mod I have is holes drilled in the stock can baffles, and I'm running 89 octane gas. (hesitation is worse with higher octane)  Anyone else have this problem?  I checked plugs, and they are good.

I don't think the choke system is adjustable.  And leaving the choke on, even at 10%, doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

What year is your bike?  If it's older (and even if it's not), it's possible than there is some varnish from old gas restricting the orifices on your jets.

Do you know if the carburetors have ever been cleaned?  It's not hard to do, and it's a good feeling when you see the holes in the jets "get bigger" after you soak them in carb cleaner and blow them out.

I'll give that a try.  The bike is a '99
