I heard about a guy (friend of the guy I bought my GS from) that had a similar device - it fogged out the numbers. Lets just say the coppers were not amused when he was caught. Wheelie in a 50km/h zone at about 115km/h and tried to out run the fuzzies. Can you say 'roadblock'? He was ordered to sell his year old bike and gear, was fined $800, got a bunch of demerits AND had to appear in court later for additional ... punishment, I guess. I do not know what happened regarding court. I do know that he had decided to never ride a bike again - he realized he just couldn't control himself. The good thing - he's still alive!

Ride well And be Safe!

this is similar to a post i had earlier.  A lot of guys in toronto on the 600 and litre bikes would take their plates off and bend 'em a couple times to weaken the metal.  Then if they saw the lights approaching in the mirrors, they'd hopefully flip it up before the cop could read it, and be gone.  Especially with the ability to just split the lanes through traffic in toronto, they could get away.  I was sitting on lakeshore blvd. in heavy traffic with my mom, when all of a sudden I just heard this screaming of a sport bike, and was thinking where the heck is that thing flying around (as we were surrounded by traffic), then whipping by the car goes a sportbike( can't remeber, nor do i remeber if his plate was bent up) but he goes tearing down the lane to the red light, whips a quick right toward some deserted type streets, meanwhile there's a cop with no shoulder or anything ot get around all the traffic.  That guy must have gotten away.

yeah, those do look cool, but not for $150, i think the reason they use on those ones that black out the numbers, are for show use, you can ride up to a bike show, park your bike, and black it out, knowing there's gonna be people walking around taking pictures, which i guess you could atleast try using as an arguement, not if you're caught using it in public, but if someone see's it and asks,

but either way, nothing you can't rig up with $3 hinges and a $2 bicycle  brake cable, not that i'd know

i haven't been able to figure out a nice way to make it flip up and back with some kinda spring tension or anything like that, but still, you can just leave the plate hanging straight down, and then pull the cable and it'll pull the plate up, the fast tags acctually hook into your battery somehow, it's dumb though, for the longest time i had my plate just slightly bent, you could still read it perfectly fine, it just wan't at a 90 degree angle, and i got pulled over for it, and after i argued with him for a while and he realized he wasn't getting anywhere, he just gave me a warning, and then started threatening me more, knowing i wasn't gonna bother arguing too much more cause there was the threat of him taking it back for a ticket, but the way i see it, they could either leave kids a lone for stupid stuff like that, when you could already see my plate, or bug me, and have me take the time to hook that up, so you don't know it, but if i don't want you to see it at all, you won't be able to
