measuring the wall on the suzuki guards... OK I doubt they make a guage for somehting that fine... I have the stock ones ... and its paper thin... thinner than the stock handlebars. Its maybe 1/16 or even 1/32. I have ~1/8th wall I am making it from... cant get any thinner if I paid extra... besides thin crap will fold and buckle while bending it...
Cool.

Yep!  Your right.  Very thin.  I didn't even bother to measure.

They make it out of such thin crap... I cant even bend that thin guage material wihtout it buckling... moreover my end plates and the wall on the tubing are thicker to account for people that want to re use them after a crash. In all eventuality after a crash they will come out un scathed... scratched yes, but otherwise fine.
Cool.

Sounds great!

Just keep in mind for a pair when they are ready.  I may not keep up but would like you to try to remind me if you can.

Regards,
Paul

out'a curiosity, if I paid you a bit extra would you put something on mine to mount footpegs on it? ;-)

not sure what kind of footpegs, as I don't know that much about it, I just know that it would make it a lot nicer for long rides.

Great news! I just saved a bundle on car insurance by switching to a motorcycle!

The Buddha

They should take foot pegs as is... They are 1 inch OD, same as the suzuki and honda and I am sure many other makes.
Cool.

This may be a stupid question, but what years would they fit on. I just ask becuase I thought that the suzuki ones that they are selling now only fit on the 99+ bikes

I'll take a set ... will pay you through paypal ... BTW is it possible to replace the subframe for the 97 GS? I was told that to straighten the subframe professionally is $1000 ... If I cant replace the subframe, I will try and straighten the subframe myself (scafolding over the tire and push  :) ) Srinath you got any suggestions?

The Buddha

Straightening it.... you want a GS frame... I have a CA titled salvage one that werase wants for some hokey pokey experiment, but when he's done you could get from him... I think. Unless he build it into some un godly GR650 motored race bike of sorts...
OK BTW your bike's sub frame did not look that badly bent at all... it takes a lot of force for the GS frame to bend. The crash you had didn't seem like it would have bent it.
Cool.

Any progress on the case guards, I know you are always super busy.

I would love to test some out for you!!

Busy yes, getting things done - no... But the case guards are at the machinist... he has to egg the holes for the end plates... I'll get it done as soon as he gets them out to me. The damn summer has made everyone start up their projects... So every shop - welder, machinist, mechanic, plumber, barber... is full of lots of people's crap... cant even set foot in there wihtout someone dropping somehting on it.
Cool.
