What a lousy year for riding...

...for me anyways.  I've put about 40-50 miles on my GS this summer as of today.  First it took me awhile to afford getting the registration ($30) but now that's done, it needs new tires and brake pads, and their is a stuck piston on the front caliper.

Of course, guess what else needs new brake pads, the cage  :x .  And it will need new tires before winter.  And a bunch of other stuff for the 30,000 mile interval service.  Even though I'm doing alot of it it myself ('cept the tires), I still can't afford to put money into both vehicles.  Plus, the whole time issue, I work 52 hours a week, sometimes as many as 60.  It sucks but when it comes to time and money the cage takes priority.

Sometimes I just feel like selling the GS and paying off a good slice of my debt.  If I don't ride it much more this year I just might.  On top of the cost of maintenance, registration and insurance, I'm becoming quite paranoid about getting in an accident.  Ever since moving from a small city/township area and coming to the Akron area, I've been scared more and more.

People drive like maniacs around here, and don't pay attention.  I've had a countless number of cages pull out in front of me, and twice last year I was nearly run off the freeway (60+ mph) by people who pulled into my lane.  Hell, sometimes other bikers scare me with the way they ride.

I'm 22 and I've only been riding for about 2 years, and already I'm starting to feel like the old man who sells his bike, hangs up his helmet and walks away.  Maybe in after a few years I'll get back into it and buy a cruiser  :)

Ok, I'm done ranting now.  I'm going to go have some  now.
