Nerves of steel, a full measure of courage, and a good memory is what you need at the IoM. Thanks a bunch for the link.
It's not how fast you go, rather "how" you go fast!

I've always wanted to see a modern TT race. They are a lot more ballsy than the track courses, as the pavement inconsistencies are enough to make you crap your pants.

Even worse that the surface is the fact that there's no runoff.  If you got off the track, you're in all kinds of trouble.

From what I've gathered "off the track" means "into a wall" or "inside of a spectator".

Freakin' sweet.

Looks like fun to me.  I think the suits ought to have a flap in the rear to clean the crap out when you take a pit stop. :)

Funniest name I was ever called on here "cap'n fast n' furious"

A guy once told me "having nitrous on your car is alot like dating a hot girl with a STD, your afraid to hit it because of what might happen."

You mean like this??

There's a link to this at //www.iomtt.com

If you want to see the grit and soul of the TT and road racing, buy or rent "The Road Racers" and "V Four Victory" It is mostly a showcase of Joey Dunlop and some of the other racers of the 70's, but it gives you a sense of what those cats did, and how the TT has developed.

The best part is when a 16mm movie camera (yeah I know, some of you have never seen that technology) was strapped to Dunlop's bike and he makes the entire run of the island in about 23 minutes. WOW!

I think I remember seeing an article about that! He ended up with a yellow paint stripe on his leathers that wouldn't rub off. When he came into the pits he was shouting at everyone to look at his leathers and how cool it was. He saw it as a really awesome keepsake, IIRC.
