Is that the Wayne's World car? We never got those here but I thought they were pretty cool... and would be even cooler if you jammed a big V8 under the hood  :icon_mrgreen:

I've abandoned hand sanding the cowl, gonna take months to get all that paint off... I'll wait 'til Sunday when I can make some noise and will break the power tools out instead.

I got a slurry mixed up last night to fill all the low spots around the patches though and that should take care of the screw holes as well.

FWIW, I had a 1968 Buick Electra that had drums all around.
Was a damn fine motorcar.  :thumb:

Actually had driven one if these. Kinda enjoyed it. Weirdest cars ever driven were either a 77 mercury marquis (460v8) which I owned briefly.  Or a 77 Lincoln town car which I almost bought. Either one i could steer with a fingertip with absolutely no feel in steering.

Ah big ol' Yankee steel... one thing we just don't really get over here. Back as a kid I wanted my dad to keep his old late '60's HK Kingswood (don't recall the exact year) so I could do it up and have it as my first car but alas he sold it... 161 cubic inch straight six, three on the tree, bench seats front and rear and I thought it was cool as hell even though it was bone stock and needed lots of work. Drum brakes front/rear too! If you look after drum brakes they work just fine, just don't expect them to work like disc brakes!

Looked like this except not in as good condition:

Broke out the power tools yesterday and now have the cowling probably 75%  where it needs to be before I can apply filler and putty to get it properly smooth.

My Dad had a 1982 Grand Marquis with a 'variable venturi' 351 CID V8. What an under powered sow, even when it was bran-new. :icon_rolleyes:
If you took a Lincoln Town Car and a LTD Crown-Vic, and put together all their worst features you would then have a Grand Marquis.

I just like that big ol' American iron... I'm sure many of them for you guys are just meh... but for me they're all awesome.

As for my posts? Nothing from last night, watched MotoGP recorded from Sunday night as it was on a bit late to watch live, glad I watched it  :thumb:

Hopefully tonight is back to sanding.

You may have missed my point  ;)

I was doing chest but my shoulders are sore...

Did some Googling and I've most definitely been doing it wrong :technical: At least I know better now!!

CBR... Impala's are nice indeed! Don't know years, but yes I like those  :thumb:

Got a little more sanding done last night, nothing picture worthy but slowly getting there. I figure if I do half an hour each night then most will be done by the weekend and I can do the last little bit as well as clean out the layers of fibreglass and paint dust on absolutely everything in there so I can work on something else.

Let me rephrase that for you. . .

"Yank Tank" or perhaps "Lead Sled" is the proper description.   :icon_mrgreen:

Had almost purchased a late 70s eldorado. It was almost 8 or 10 inches longer than my 77 marquis. 460 and the po put 2 single chamber flowmasters on it lol.

Yank tank sounds right to me  :thumb:

Nearly got a whole side of the cowl finished last night, might have something photo worthy tonight if it keeps going like this  :thumb:
