Just went and bought myself another GS to work on.
Cost me $600 aud which is VERY cheap in my country.
It runs albeit a little rich but nonetheless its in pretty good nick.
1990 GS500E
Has factory oem engine bars which is a plus as well as factory clip-ons.

By the looks of it , it just needs a lot of elbow grease, a chain, tyres and a bit of paint and should be good to go.
The carbs were cleaned and jetted by PO 2 weeks ago at mechanic

That's a handsome ride.

You planning on doing a full restore, or simply tune it up and use it as a daily driver?

And good luck with it too!

Thanks guys,
No not gonna full resto.
I'm gonna clean it up and replace any parts as needed and repaint it so it looks better. Dont need it as a daily rider as I have a perfectly good one already so might just sell it or keep as a spare for when friends come round?
I am just absolutely thrilled to get a running GS for $600 especially as there is no rust on it at all and everything else is just cosmetic. :thumb:

Not a bad looking bike except for that fugley chain guard. Change that and that bike is ready to ride!

NEVER and I repeat NEVER EVER piss off a biker chick! Sure way to find your ride laying on its side.

That's a great find. If I could afford another, I might prefer to have more variety in my bike stable, but I really admire the dedication to the brand of you guys who have multiple GS500s.

Ahhhhh that's the bike I saw on Gumtree. Good find well done.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.
