Infamous Srinath Jetting Guide:

The stock US bike for the years 89-2000 came with #37.5 pilots (rest of the world had #40). However one can get rid of the cold blooded nature of the beast by upgrading to #40 pilots. You should be able to get this at your local suzuki dealer. Part # 09420-40014

To do a complete rejet using srinath's jetting guide one needs to:

1 size bigger mains (125 up from 122.5 stock) with a UNI in the airbox and pipe, and 1 washer under needle raising it 1/2 mm.

2 sizes bigger mains (127.5 up from 122.5 stock) with a K&N in the airbox and pipe and 2 washers under needle raising it 1 mm.

Anytime you tweak the pilots you want to have the option of resetting the air mixture at idle. So take out the brass plug that they put on the air screw so you can fiddle with the air screw...Set it to 3 turns out.

For Stage 3 Jetting: Take off the airbox and put K&N's Lunch Box / RU-2970 on instead then you need 150 mains. The rest is all the same as the K&N's in the airbox.

Edit by scratch: took out the amp; in K&N.
'01 GS500. Mods: Katana Shock, Progessive Springs, BobB's V&H  Advancer Clone, JeffD's LED tail lights & LED licence plate bolt running lights, flanders superbike bars, magnet under the bike. Recent mods: Rejet with 20/62.5/145, 3 shims on needle, K&N Lunch box.

The washers that go under the needle are #4's available at home depot or Lowes.
In addition to this... I replace the float bowl screws those damn  :x phillips head ones with allen head... 10-32 machine thread available in stainless steel is the best choice... so you can yank the float bowls off whit them still on the bike.... AKA nothing to remove... no tank, no fuel lines no air box... nothing. That's it.
Cool.
Srinath.
