Nice!
As an owner of the classic Katana, what is your opinion of Suzuki's 2020 Katana efforts?

Good to see you posting again Yama! Been a while  :thumb:

Bluesmudge... I've yet to see one in the metal but hope to at some point. For my tastes, I still prefer the original however the design brief of the new is quite different to the original. In my mind a Kat will always be long and low, which the new one is not, and the very small fuel tank isn't appealing either.

Having said all that, reports so far are that it's been well received and the two guys I know via the Katana forum who have received theirs are very happy with them, and both have originals as well of course.

Time will tell I guess...

The Katana guys are doing their annual weekend ride we call State of Origin (Queensland vs. New South Wales) where us Queenslanders get together and ride south while the New South Welshman ride north and we all meet at a place called Nambucca Heads.

I couldn't do the whole trip again unfortunately but rode a fair way with the Queenslanders.

I ended up doing a bit over 720kms for the day seeing the Qld guys as far as Grafton before I turned back. Next year I'll go all the way and do my U turn on Sunday with the rest.

I started riding just after 6am and rolled in the garage at home at 7:30pm, it was a long day in the saddle! Great riding, perfect weather, I just need to get my Katana fitness up to scratch as I'm a little sore today.

Some happy snaps from the day starting at Rocklea:

Not downing the other peoples rides by anymeans. Yours my friend sticks out....in a good way. Like the way it SHOULD have been originally produced.

A trailer for the chair... very handy!!  :thumb:

Mine's just the freshest in the group really, although yeah the red frame certainly makes it stand out a bit... sorta like a sore  :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

I'm envious of the Kat beside me in the second last photo... I would like the torque and power that 1360cc motor has in mine...

No pic's but out for a short ride yesterday morning and managed to finally say g'day to a fella on a local forum who I've not managed to meet in person yet so that was pretty cool. Totally unplanned, and met another fella also from the same forum who was also there completely unplanned. Life is good  :thumb:

Indeed!

Got the call that the kitchen is ready to be delivered and have organised that for this coming Saturday... finished getting all the splashback tiles off on the weekend so all we need to do is clean out the cupboards and we'll be ready to start ripping it out when I start my 3 weeks' leave on the 9th September. Can/can't wait  :icon_confused: :icon_lol:

Hahahahaha that's gold!  :icon_lol:

Kitchen bits are due to be delivered today, so that'll be fun inventorying all the bits to make sure they're there.

One more week to go then it'll be 3 weeks off to rip the old one out and put the new one in... going to be... fun?

I suspect much scotch and wine will be consumed  :D

It's all on the back deck... and I'd forgotten they said it gets delivered on pallets, so one double pallet and two singles were dropped on the driveway out the front. We then had to lug probably 500 kg's worth of flat pack kitchen bits round the back and upstairs onto the back deck...  :hithead:

Oh well, it's here now, short ride this morning then time to make sure we've got everything we ordered and start figuring out how it all goes together!
