Hahahahahaha yes indeed!

I did get it all together with cam shafts and freshly rebuilt tensioner tonight...

Untitled by starpoint73, on Flickr

But despite the fact I checked myself 4 times I've still screwed the timing up and rotation ends up with a piston hitting a valve which is not good for anyone... so I'm going to have to remove the tensioner, loosen the cams, and start again at step 1 for the timing...  >:(

It'll be something stupidly and blatantly obvious that I've missed...

Yep it was! Supposed to set timing based on cylinders 1/4... I managed to do it on 2/3...  :dunno_black:

Oh well, at least it's all fixed now so should see the motor in the frame on Sunday.

Got my first brake component assembled also  :thumb:

Hahha cheers guys!! And gal of course! :D

I'm pretty stoked how it's all turning out. I'm also astounded by people's generosity... a fella in the US sent me a big box of parts that arrived today with a bunch of stuff in it that will really help out. In particular is a set of VM33 Smoothbore carbs which I've been dreaming of finding, so this is just awesome.

I also got the stator and clutch installed and I've loosely sat the sprocket cover on to see how it looks as a catch can and I reckon that's a nice subtle mod.

Doc wants me in a powerchair to take strain off of whats left of legs. Pt thinks otherwise. So may be a bit of a gripe. Saving to buy neighbors old electric. Powerchair. 300 in working order really isn't that bad. This will wipe me out first of next month. No qorries though.

Hahaha classic! Get your power chair? I can see a new hot rod project in your future  ;)

Lots of fiddly things for me on both the Kat and the 450... discovered the Kat sump plug threads in the cover were buggered so had to repair that, and lots of harness tidying up to do, valve adjustments done, and other little things. Also discovered the oil pressure switch is buggered so need to replace that before the first start.

Starter motor on the 450 has been playing up for a while so time to sort that out while on holidays from work, and see if I can stop the oil leak(s). I think some grit got into the oil filter O ring groove so I've rotated the O ring and cleaned the groove out hoping that's now fixed. Delays with postage due to wild weather means I'm still waiting for the starter motor brushes to arrive before I can put it all together and see if she'll start properly and if I still have any oil leaks...

First start of the Kat will still be a few weeks away I think.
