Queso

Methinks I may let the dealer take care of the spring swap for me... I'd probably break something.

Nah, I got this covered  O0 I just didnt think I would have to take the whole fork apart. I guess I will grab some progressive springs.

You undid the bolt on the underside of the fork leg, right?

Now, push the tube in a little and JERK it out!

YES!!  Because under that is a little wire clip that keeps the seal in place...as well as everything else!

hay great tool

If i want to convert from inches to mm, how big is the head, on that hex bolt 5/8=15.875mm is there room for a 16 mm hex bolt, and length is over 40 cm.

1 inches = 25.4 millimeters 16 inches = 406,4 mm

More in ? about the hex head in mm.

Doubt the local hardware store has 5/8 hex bolts

Thanks

An M16 (24mm hex head) works (probably is a better fit than the inch bolt mentioned here).

Okay guys. I was cleaning up after yesterday venture inot the forks and noticed this copper ring about an inch thick give or take.......where does it go? I know which fork it came out of but I just want to make sure im doing it right.

Does it go "around" the piston at the bottom of the inner tube?

Are you talking about Item 10 in this MrCycles diagram?

Yep, it's supposed to go back in before anything else.

this should be in FAQ.

I only bumped it because I am going into my garage to make a sorry attempt to take the forks apart.  :icon_razz:

I just referenced back to this thread today myself.  The tool worked like a charm!
