O.K. So after dumping my new F model HARD on its left side (hard enough to shatter the left engine cover over the stator) I got it back and running by installing a new cover, stator seemed fine. However, the bike now has this VILE vibration that peaks at 3-4K when I rev it, although it also makes a low frequency sound at idle that I don't think I heard before. It feels like its coming from deep within my bike and when I rev it, it causes the whole gas tank to resonate. Obviously somethings out of wack. I took it for a short spin and it seems to accelrate/run fine otherwise, but something must be rubbing or bent question is: What would most likely become out of wack if you essentially took a sledge hammer and started to bash into the left side of the engine cover? And, should I just ride it to the shop and have them look at it? I know I could probably take the sucker apart but I don't know if I'll have the proper tools to diagnose the prob. Otherwise, the bike accelerates and shifts fine.
Please help me, I have have been off my bike for FAR TOO LONG, I am a SICK MAN and WILL push the nearest squid off his ride soon just to get my fix. :P
bent the rotor on the crank?
is it still warranteed?
jaek

Yup, or the crankshaft itself. Bad stuff. And no warranty wor smashing your Bike with a sledgehammer either.
Check and see if all rubber bits are still under your tank.
Yeah, its still under warranty. The sledgehammer bit was for illustration.
Whew! Tech says it was a bent bracket attached to the gas tank. :) But they were like, "we could order you a new gas tank for $650" I was like.... :bs: Figure i'll just bend it back to shape and maybe add some extra rubber gasket.
