While washing the bike yesterday, I noticed a small 1" nail in the back tire. It was in the tire about 3/16" at about a 35 degree angle. I pulled the nail out and put some soapy water over the hole and no bubbles so it wasn't leaking. Should I do anything else? The tire is still up this morning so it's definately not leaking.
the soapy water is a good tool, if you had no bubbles, and the tire didn't go soft overnight, you are fine, that means the nail didn't puncture the tires inner liner (the 'inside skin" of the tire) you needn't worry the external damage, unless you can see torn cords poking out or something crazy like that... a small nail usually wont tear up cords
Nope, no cords or anything just a little puncture hole - tire is still good so no worrys. Thanks.
Thats kinda wierd cuz the same exact thing happened to me a couple days ago. Mines not leaking either. :dunno:

Just keep watching where the nail was for leaks.
I had a 3" framing nail in my rear tire of my TLR once and it did not go flat. Replaced it anyways since I did not know how much damage was done to the cords.
if it makes you nervous, or starts to leak, Ill take it off your hands, i have no fears with pluging it and running it hard.
Run it til ya wear it out.
