My clear visor is really scratched up and it's getting a little hard to see out of. Is there any way to take some of the scratches out? I'd rather improve it than buy a new one.
You could try a plastic polish. My car has a black plastic piece from taillight to taillight and I used this on it and it came out like new. The stuff is supposed to bring back optical clarity for plastic - even says so on the bottle. I used 3M plastic polish.
Excellent, thanks. Can you get this stuff at Walmart?
Try a auto body supply. I don't think that walmart would carry something like this - too specialized.
It depends on how deep the scratches are. If the scratched are deep, like from being dropped on cement, the plastic polish won't help. If the visor has a coating (Iridium tint, anti-fog, etc.) The plastic polish may remove it. Deep scratches also make the visor weaker.
I've heard toothpaste works...never actually tried it tho. It might just be a biker legend.
Brasso works well if the scratched are shallow. It is cheap and available almost anywhere.
I got some from the Honda Motorcycle Dealership called Mirror Glaze plastic cleaner. Have used it on plastic watch lenses. Does well! It is for plastic windshields and the like. Should be fine for your visor. Hope this helps, Wilson

Most toothpastes do work. Some are too coarse, though, but the mainstream stuff works just fine.
