i want to buy this gsx fairing... if i took off my fairing and switched it with the other headlight asspembly of a gsxr would it work?
Well I do know this hasn't been tried yet. It would be one hell of a project though. I'll let you wait till the gurus get here. BTW if you do try this and it works, you need to post how-to's plus pics.
well guys im going for it i read people put on the dual headlight
so im goign to attepmt it
wish me luck
if it works i have a skidmarx fairing i will sell
Good Luck!
Take pics and let us know how it goes!
actually I'm already doing this... the headlight and fairing go together by means of a fairing stay. This attaches to the frame of the gsxr at tabs which the GS doesnt have. I have an upper / headlight / and stay off of an 89 1100 (not to mention rest of the front end... forks wheel etc) and it can be done. but you'll need to make your own mounting thinggys. Since I dont have access to a welder, I decided to chop the tabs off of the stay and use the headllight fastening screws to make some mounting points for little bars which can attach to the lower triple clamp bolts... i know i know, pictures are worth a thousand words... so when its all done, I'll post em up... still waiting for my mirrors and screen and want to fab a new bracket from aluminum cause now I just have it all rigged with some old dogbones I had layin around... anyway its a big fairing prolly will look silly but I dont care. plus i have the 1100 front end so it looks big up front anyway...

DIBS on the fairing :thumb:
you really should have had...a buddy.... weld two thingies on there
i have a guy about 8 miles from house that will TIG almost anything for under $20
having the fairing move with the handlebars might get weird in a heavy wind/ high speed.
ill be getting it hopefully this weekend
ill take pics of what i did to get it to fit...]
if the headllight will fit
i gurantee i can make it work
should look sick
Any fairing can be made to fit since the GS is narrow. I have a SVS fairing that I test fitted. It is a little wider but with a few brackets, it could work.

yeah thats a good point. actually right now its just the lamps so more like a nekkid front end. I'll look into finding a buddy/welder and see if that cant be done... then I can attach fairing too... fairing is chopped btw... (was rashed by the person who dropped his gsxr.. and cracked where it joins the rest of the bodywork i didnt need... so good deal for me)
