I give the horizontal side sweep right off the bar - seems to do the job.

i wave if they wave first, they really tend not to wave at me when i'm by myself, maybe cause i'm a girl. but they do when i'm out with my dad (course he rides a harley) so i sneek a wave in there ;)

Mainly a nod over here, most riders return it, some don't. Seems to be more cammeraderie in winter when the weather is sh..........

what kind of wave do I give?...

whatever kind is convenient, safe and visible.... its very situation specific...

clutching and throttling through an intersection: NOD

Across a divided US Interstate at cruising speed: BIIIIG HAND OUT AND UP

In a lean on a twisty backroad: PINKY WAVE

In a straight on a twisty backroad: ARM EXTENDED OUT AND DOWN.

basically whatever kind of acknowledgement can be seen without compromising  safety   :thumb:

I usually give the   "drop hand down below bars open palm outward"   wave.
If you don't wave back I give the one finger wave  :nana:    I use this wave for no-driving soccer moms in $50k SUVs as well.

yeah, i go with the left hand lower than the handlebars with a sideways peace-type sign, pointing at them.  it has to be the coolest wave to do.  :thumb:

I agree with zara... two fingers sideways is my wave of choice... but I do tend to nod a lot, if I am busy clutching or whatever...

Well I usually do the 'put your hand out and point' technique(sp).

Usually, the ol' two finger wave. Though if I'm on a long straight road then I sometimes jump on the gas tank and do a little jig. Slainte!

I wave to everyone, even the HD guys who just scowl back.  How depends, usually the upright, clutch hand, circular motion.

Have noticed that alot more cruizer guys wave when I'm with my wife on her Breva. I guess they mistake it for a cruizer.

Two finger "peace sign" to all bikers, or just one finger.
Straight out to the left, just below the handle bars.

Don't hate... Sometimes, they cannot wave to others.. When my ex rented a Harley, he found that it was difficult to hold a bike with one hand. Also, for me, I want to wave to people, but I know I am gonna lose my balance, so I cannot!
Squids... hmmm squids are squids. Cannot expect them from anything.. lol
