Title: Have access to metal bending machine - ideas?
Post by: BRB96Z34 on July 15, 2004, 04:06:34 PM
We purchased a metal bender at work a while ago and I'm wondering what I could do on it?  It's a Delta 40 on this page : http://tauringroupusa.com/Products.htm  The only thing I'm not sure of if it will bend tight enough to make handlebars for example.  Ideas?

The sample curves in the upper-right corner of the web page seem to indicate that handlebars would not be a problem.

But the linked page is "under construction"....  :x

Um....instrument cluster savers?  They'll go along nicely with srinath's case savers.  Then, who knows...blinker savers?

It will make handlebars easy, I belive... Mine is made with a simple hand bender that I felt worked best... the shop has some serious exhaust pipe making stuff, but they all didn't work as well as my hand hydraulic one... The guy said he didn't think anyone was going to use it in a million years... The case savers... same thing. But I guess the other one might have worked too, I experimented with the one I knew how to play with and it came out right.
Cool.
Srinath.

A wing-style rack: loops on the sides to hold cases, and a platform on the top.  Yes, Givi already makes one, and 5-stars used to... $$$!  Need one for less than $100.

We've just been bending light aluminum sections at one curve but the thing just sits there most of the time so I would like to get some use out of it.  I may try some handlebars sometime.  Maybe case savers too, who knows.
