my crazy scooter ridin' friend asked me to PLEASE post here and ask how she can get more power to her little scooter. It's a Honda Elite 80cc little guy that tops out (down hills ;) ) at about 45. Anyone know of mods that will work to boost that little motor?
thanks! ;)
I had a similiar problem with my 1965 80cc Yamaha motorcycle; it would top out at 45 mph down a hill. THE SOLUTION: find bigger hills! I think I once made it up to 50 :o
Turbo
nos
lose weight
There's a really easy way she can get more power, just tell her to buy a real bike! ;)
Can she put a 125cc cylinder + piston on it? :P I assume it's 2-stroke.
Maybe performance-exhaust, bigger carb + jets, bigger airfilter.
But the effect is that it goes faster, but makes an incredible noise that's really disproportional to the sound
Bottom line: Let her buy a motorcycle ;)
It may be governed, either through electronics or physical restriction. I'd check that first, then start goin' nuts with all the usual subjects (exhaust, carb, gearing).
"bigger hills" + "nos" + "turbo!"
as far as losing weight, wouldn't heavier things go down a hill faster?
scooters are schweet....ever since i saw Dodgeball i want a scooter

I tried that approach!
She said she got into too much trouble on her old 250 that now she will just stick to scooters.
Grab onto a passing car. :thumb:
the thing with most small cc 4 stroke engines, they dont breath for nothing, a carb from the old 110 ATC's or 100 XL and opening up the exhaust should make a noticeable diff, but would put better brakes and choices of rubber on too.
easy, attach a rope with a grappeling hook, and latch onto the first gs500 that comes along, , seriously, whatever you might do, probably will not get much improvement. :dunno:
