Title: Bouncy Front End
Post by: TOMIMOTO on July 17, 2004, 06:12:04 PM
I know I have heard before that the front forks on the GS are floaty/bouncy, but my bike is really bouncy.  I can be on a perfectly flat road and the front end is constanty bouncing up and down really fast. Is this normal? You can really tell at night because the light shining on the back of the cars and on the ground is bouncing up and down really rapidly. It probably pisses the person off infront of me. I'm just wondering if this is normal and what springs I can get to stop this. Also where can I get them. It doesnt bounce up and down like its on hydraulics or something. It's more like a vibrations bounce. Thanks. Oh yah I have a 04 incase you cant tell.  :)

I bought the bike last saturday and it was built on April 4th, 2004. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a bent rim or anything wrong with the balance.

I would have the dealer check it.  It's a new bike and it should not bounce.  The front spring are a little on the soft side but they don't cause the bike to do what you describe.  I would have them check to make sure there is the proper amount of oil in the forks.
