Title: does the stock chain not have a master link

wtf i thought chains had master links....either i didnt look hard enought...which i doubt.....or you have to break it off...right

No the stock chains are riveted at the factory with a regular link making them effectively endless, but almost impossible to fail. You either have to cut it with a cut off wheel or grinder (easiest) or a chain rivet tool (harder) or disassemble the swingarm (hardest).

... or you could always use a hacksaw.  It's only steel.
