Does anyone know when a Clymer Manual will be available for the 2004 F? I checked with the Suzuki Dealer and the factory manual isn't available yet (for retail sales). :dunno:
No, and Clymers usually takes a year or so to come out with a manual of thier own. It may take even longer for the F because it isn't really a new design so they may let a revision of their old GS500 manual slide...
Your best bet it to try to score the offical Suzuki GS manual, or more likely the suppliment they publish for it.
I think the current Haynes and Clymers are up to 2002, hopefully the 2003 and upwards may include the F models. I have a 2003 (Naked) and have been hanging back on buying a manual just in case but I don't suppose there is much, if any, difference between K2 and K3 models.
The 02 manual will work for most all repairs. I got a supplemental manual for the 04 from my dealer, it has the added changes in it, like the oil cooler, fairings, front forks are different, and some minor wiring changes.
How much did the supplemental maunal run from the dealer? My local dealer said they didn't have anything for the 2004 yet. Do you happen to have the code for the supplement?
It didn't cost me anything, I didn't get an owners manual and kept bugging them about it and they gave me the supplemental instead. I don't know the code, I'm at work, manual at home. I'll look at it tonight and let you know tomorrow.
Here is the code off the supplemental manual, 99501-34150-03E, this is the addition to the manual 99500-34150-03E, both are Suzuki manuals.
