Title: Paint match (2002 Silver)
Post by: cay on July 23, 2004, 07:28:30 AM
I've got a dime-sized spot of rust on the frame under my seat and would like to touch it up.  Can anyone recommend a decent match?

I have a 2000 and I have found a can of spray paint that I feel matches pretty well.  I bought it at a Lowes home center.  It is "American Tradition" by Valspar.  Interior/Exterior Ultra Enamel.  Look for a grey cap with the word FLAT on it.  Then look on the back where the UPC is.  It should say 165887 ALUMINUM.  I did some work on my frame with it and I cant really tell where it stops and the normal frame begins.

I am also painting my tank and all bodywork this color......should have an aluminum looking bike soon!

Thanks Andy, that's perfect.  akh223, I'm not too concerned about precisely matching the paint (the rust is under my seat afterall) but I"m sure someone will find that link useful.
